Hi, my name is Cassidy Marcinczyk, and I am 14 years old. I started playing softball at the age of 5.
When I first started here at DiamondZone (DZ), I was in my second year of 12U. This is when I met Brett. When I had my first practice with him, I knew that he was a tough coach,expecting higher standards from his athletes. As practicescontinued, I found him to be the toughest coach I ever hadand I knew I would have to work harder than I have before.
Throughout my year of 12U at DZ, I have grown so much asan athlete. I have to thank my dad, Coach Scott, for always helping me with my pitching and telling me to never give up. Next, I would like to thank Brett for pushing me to a higher level of skill he knew I could get to.
Currently, I am finishing up my first year of 14U. I can really look back and think about how much I have grown personally over my last two years at DiamondZone. I have taught myself to not be so tough on myself when I make a mistake. DZ has taught me to learn from my mistakes and not let them bring me down. Even though I still get upset, I now turn the experience around in my favor.
DiamondZone has also been a very favorable experience for me. I have been introduced to new friendships, and we are like one big family.
Overall, I am very happy with my improvement whether it was with hitting, pitching, or feilding. I am honored for the ability to highlight DZ and what this organization has done for me.
