A little over a year ago, my team was looking for somewhere to move together, and after a team conversation with Brett, we knew DiamondZone would be the place for us.
Despite being relatively new to the program, DZ has changed the way that I view softball completely. Rather than softball being like a chore that I have to do every week, I look forward to going to games and practices and they are always the highlight of my day. One of the most prominent memories I have at DZ is from my first day of tryouts when I was confused about a skill that I was being taught for the first time. Immediately, Carol came over and explained the drill to me, no matter how many times I messed up or needed it to be explained to me again. Every coach here takes the time to make sure that when you don’t understand something being asked of you, you eventually understand and execute it.
DiamondZone has also given me the opportunity to play at a higher level, playing in 16u and 18u tournaments and showcases while I was in 14u has given me a huge amount of experience and confidence when playing with DiamondZone and in the high school season.
This program has also given me a second family to look forward to seeing week after week. Whether it be at weekly practice or a tournament with a team other than my own, I have made numerous friends to talk to and cheer me on in the blazing heat of a summer tournament, or 7 am warm ups in the fall.
Overall, my experience at DiamondZone has reignited my love for softball and has made playing softball something to look forward to everyday.
