I have been a part of DiamondZone for the past five years. I chose DiamondZone because of the family atmosphere. Unlike other programs, DiamondZone’s coaches and players are all kind and caring. Everything that you are looking for in a softball program DiamondZone has. From the coaches to the players, you can see that everyone is determined to help each other improve to the best they can be. I have learned to focus on all aspects of softball and treat practice reps like they are a game. Some examples are situational hitting and working on my footwork in the outfield.
I have made long lasting friendships while at DiamondZone. I have gotten to play and win tournaments and games with my teammates over the years who are now some of my best friends. I always look forward to going to practice to learning new drills and spending time with my teammates.
One of the most valuable things DiamondZone has helped me to do is to build confidence in myself, both on and off the field. Brett, Carol, Ed and my other coaches have taught me to never give up on myself. I learned that even if I made a mistake on the field, I can’t let that define me and I have to move on and make the next play. This has not only helped me in softball, but also in life. I use the skills I have learned in softball and apply them to other aspects of my life. I used to struggle with having confidence in myself when I was younger and was scared to make mistakes. I overcame this by realizing that everyone around me had confidence in me and I just needed to have confidence in myself to become the player I am now. My coaches and teammates at DiamondZone have helped me become a better player and showed me how to believe in myself.
